GFT at a glance
- Who runs it: Goat Funded Trader is a trade name of Wishes Tower International Limited, registered in Hong Kong, with a second company, Goat Funded LTD, in Saint Lucia. It says it launched in May 2023.
- The accounts are simulated. GFT says its accounts "are not live trading accounts, they are fully simulated accounts".
- Platforms: MT5, cTrader, Match-Trader, TradeLocker and Volumetrica.
- India: GFT isn't on RBI's Alert List as updated on 19 November 2025, and India isn't on its list of restricted countries. RBI says an entity not on the list should not be assumed to be authorised, and we're not aware of any ruling by an Indian regulator on prop firm fees; the guide to forex trading in India explains where prop firms sit, and prop firm taxes covers payouts.

GFT's 2-Step PRO model stopped being sold on 13 June 2026. Its help centre still has pages for 3-Step, Pay Later and Instant PRO models, none of which appears in the price selector on its homepage, and GFT's Pay Later sales page says the programme is currently closed. GOAT Blitz is sold only in occasional weekend drops, and the Goat 1$ account caps total withdrawals at $100 and expires 28 days after activation.
How the daily drawdown is measured
GFT's trading day runs from 5 PM to 5 PM New York time ("EST" on its pages), which is 02:30 to 02:30 IST while the US is on summer time and 03:30 to 03:30 IST in winter. On the step models, at each reset GFT takes the higher of your balance and equity and subtracts the daily percentage from it.
Example: a 2-Step GOAT account with a 4% daily limit has $102,000 of equity at the reset. The floor for the day is $102,000 − 4% = $97,920. The maximum loss on the step models is static: a $100,000 1-Step account is closed if it falls to $94,000, however much it has made first. The instant models trail instead, so their floor rises with your best equity.
The 80% margin rule
GFT treats "any trade where more than 80% of available margin is used in a trading idea" as gambling-style trading, which can lead to profit deductions or a phase reset. Because gold and indices have low leverage on funded accounts, a position that looks small can cross the line. Check any trade with the GFT margin rule calculator or the free Excel template.
Goat Guard and other limits on open losses
- Goat Guard applies to funded accounts except instant ones. If your combined floating loss reaches 2% of the initial account size, the first time your profit split drops to 50%; the second time the account is closed.
- Instant accounts close if an open loss reaches 1% of the balance on HERO, 2% on GOAT and 1% on Premium (1.5% for Premium accounts bought before 2 September 2026).
- Risk limitation: GFT can limit a trader to 1% risk per trade idea after a warning, and a breach after that ends the account.
News, weekends and other trading rules
- News: trades opened or closed within 5 minutes of high-impact news can make at most 1% of the initial balance; anything above that is removed. It isn't a breach.
- Weekends: holding trades is allowed, but on funded accounts the profit from trades opened in the last three hours on Friday and closed in the first three hours on Monday is removed.
- Funded accounts on the step models have a $3,000 daily profit limit, and profit from trades held under 2 minutes is removed at payout.
- Banned: martingale, hedging (within or between accounts), high-frequency trading and copy trading from signal services. Thirty days without a trade ends the account.
- EAs are allowed if they follow the rules, but from 12 August 2026 a VPS isn't allowed on One Step, Two Step, Instant Premium and Pay Later accounts.
Leverage
| Forex | Indices | Commodities | Crypto | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Evaluation | 1:100 | 1:20 | 1:20 | 1:2 |
| Funded | 1:50 | 1:10 | 1:10 | 1:2 |
Payouts
- Every 14 days on most models (every 10 days on Instant Premium accounts bought before 21 September 2026).
- A minimum of $100 and a 3% processing fee on every payout.
- The first two payouts are capped at 6% of the initial balance or $10,000, whichever is lower: $6,000 on a $100,000 account (4% on $5,000 2-Step accounts bought from 25 July 2026).
- GFT says payouts are processed within 2 business days, and adds $1,000 if it misses that (not for KYC delays).
- Methods include Rise, crypto and Skrill; bank transfer is offered only in a few African countries.
Where GFT's own pages disagree
Its help centre says the fee is refunded with the fourth payout, its refund policy says evaluation fees are non-refundable, and the homepage advertises a refundable fee. One article allows EAs, while the prohibited-practices page bans third-party EAs. Check the exact terms for your model before you pay.
Sizing trades on a GFT account
Whatever the firm, the rules come down to how much you can lose today and in total. Work out today's room with the drawdown calculator, size each trade from its stop with the prop firm lot size calculator, and check your odds of reaching the target first with the risk of ruin calculator.
