Lucid Trading at a glance
- What it is: a futures prop firm. Review sites say it launched in early 2025 and is run by its chief executive, AJ Campanella, and one names the company as Lucid Prop Ltd. Lucid's own site gives an address in Dover, Delaware, and says little else about the company.
- Simulated accounts: evaluations and funded accounts are simulated. Traders who do well can be moved to LucidLive, which Lucid describes as a real brokerage account.
- Markets: CME Group futures only: equity indices (ES, NQ, YM, RTY and their micros), currencies, energy, metals and agricultural contracts.
- Platforms: through the CQG feed, NinjaTrader, Tradovate and TradingView; through Rithmic, Sierra Chart, Quantower, MotiveWave, Bookmap, ATAS, Jigsaw, Tradesea, MultiCharts and R|Trader Pro. Lucid says every platform works with every account type.
- Fees: one-time, with no monthly rebilling and no activation fee to move from evaluation to funded. Resets are paid and only for evaluations.
- India: Lucid Trading isn't on RBI's Alert List as updated on 19 November 2025, and India isn't on its list of restricted countries. RBI says an entity not on the list should not be assumed to be authorised, and we're not aware of any ruling by an Indian regulator on prop firm fees; the guide to forex trading in India explains where prop firms sit, and prop firm taxes covers payouts.
Lucid's plans compared ($50,000 account)
| Plan | How you get funded | Max loss (drawdown) | Daily loss limit | Consistency rule | Payouts |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| LucidFlex | Evaluation: $3,000 target | $2,000, end-of-day trailing | On or off at checkout (soft) | 50% in the evaluation; none when funded | 5 days of $150+ profit per cycle; up to 50% of profit, max $2,000 |
| LucidPro | Evaluation: $3,000 target | $2,000, end-of-day trailing | $1,200 in the evaluation (soft); optional when funded | None listed for the evaluation; 40% per payout cycle when funded | $500 profit per cycle above the buffer; max $2,000, then $2,500 |
| LucidDirect | No evaluation: funded from day one, for a higher fee | $2,000, end-of-day trailing | $1,200 fixed, later a scaling limit (soft) | 20% per payout cycle | $3,000 profit goal for the first payout, then $2,500; max $2,000 |
| LucidDaily | Evaluation: $3,000 target | $2,000; intraday trailing when funded | On or off at checkout; $1,200 if on (soft) | 50% in the evaluation; none when funded | Any day, from profit above the buffer |
The split is the same on every plan: 90% of the profit to you and 10% to Lucid, with a minimum payout request of $500. LucidMaxx, a fifth programme, is invite-only and isn't covered here.
Account sizes, targets and contract limits
| Account | Profit target | Max loss (Flex, Pro, Daily) | Max loss (Direct) | LucidPro evaluation daily loss limit | Most contracts |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $25,000 | $1,250 | $1,000 | $1,000 | None | 2 minis or 20 micros |
| $50,000 | $3,000 | $2,000 | $2,000 | $1,200 | 4 minis or 40 micros |
| $100,000 | $6,000 | $3,000 | $3,500 | $1,800 | 6 minis or 60 micros |
| $150,000 | $9,000 | $4,500 | $5,000 | $2,700 | 10 minis or 100 micros |
A mini contract such as the E-mini Nasdaq-100 (NQ) moves $20 per index point, and its micro (MNQ) $2, so even one mini can use up a $2,000 drawdown in a 100-point move. Size every trade from its stop before you place it.
How Lucid's end-of-day trailing drawdown works
Lucid calls the drawdown the Max Loss Limit (MLL). It's recalculated at the end of each trading session from your highest closing balance, so a profit you give back before the close doesn't raise it. It keeps trailing until your balance passes the "initial trail balance", which is the starting balance plus the MLL plus $100. From then on it locks at the starting balance plus $100 and never moves again.
| Account | Drawdown amount | Starts at | Stops trailing above | Then locks at |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $25,000 | $1,000 | $24,000 | $26,100 | $25,100 |
| $50,000 | $2,000 | $48,000 | $52,100 | $50,100 |
| $100,000 | $3,000 | $97,000 | $103,100 | $100,100 |
| $150,000 | $4,500 | $145,500 | $154,600 | $150,100 |
Example on a $50,000 account: the MLL starts at $48,000. Close a day at $51,000 and it moves up to $49,000. Close above $52,100 and it locks at $50,100, so from then on you fail only if the balance falls to $50,100. If your balance falls to the MLL at any stage, the account is breached. On LucidFlex, requesting a payout also moves the MLL to the locked level straight away, for example $50,100 on a $50,000 account, even before you've reached the trail balance, so check your room before you ask. The prop firm drawdown calculator works out your room for an end-of-day trailing limit.
Funded LucidDaily accounts use an intraday trailing drawdown instead, which follows your highest balance during the day rather than at the close; futures prop firms compared explains the difference.
Lucid's consistency rules
Consistency % = largest single-day profit ÷ total profit × 100
- LucidFlex and LucidDaily evaluations: 50% or less to pass, with a small cushion built in. Funded LucidFlex and LucidDaily accounts have no consistency rule.
- LucidPro funded: 40% or less in each payout cycle. Accounts bought or reset before 28 November 2025 keep the older 35% rule.
- LucidDirect: 20% or less in each payout cycle, the strictest of the four.
Example (LucidPro, 40%): you've made $1,800 this cycle and your best day was $900, which is 50%. You can't request a payout until total profit reaches $900 ÷ 0.40 = $2,250, as long as no new day beats $900. The rule doesn't end the account; it only delays the payout. Check your own days with the consistency rule calculator, and read the prop firm consistency rule explained for how other firms use it.
Daily loss limits
Lucid says all its daily loss limits are soft breaches: hitting one stops new trades until the next session, and the account survives unless the MLL is also hit. Which plans have one:
- LucidPro: a fixed limit in the evaluation ($1,200 on $50,000; none on $25,000). Funded accounts are set up at purchase with the fixed limit or a scaling one, LucidScale, which becomes 60% of your highest end-of-day profit once you close above the initial trail balance.
- LucidDirect: a fixed limit ($1,200 on $50,000, $2,100 on $100,000, $3,000 on $150,000; none on $25,000), replaced by LucidScale once you close above the initial trail balance.
- LucidFlex: you switch the limit on or off at checkout.
- LucidDaily: on or off at checkout; if on, it's $600, $1,200, $1,800 or $2,700 by size, in both the evaluation and the funded account. The limit doesn't move during the session, so if the trailing MLL rises above it, the MLL becomes the tighter limit, and hitting the MLL ends the account.
Payouts, plan by plan
| Account | LucidFlex: minimum day / max payout | LucidPro: profit goal / max payout (1st, then later) | LucidDirect: profit goal (1st, then later) |
|---|---|---|---|
| $25,000 | $100 / $1,000 | $250 / $1,000, then $1,500 | $1,500, then $1,250 |
| $50,000 | $150 / $2,000 | $500 / $2,000, then $2,500 | $3,000, then $2,500 |
| $100,000 | $200 / $2,500 | $750 / $2,500, then $3,000 | $6,000, then $3,500 |
| $150,000 | $250 / $3,000 | $1,000 / $3,000, then $3,500 | $9,000, then $4,500 |
- LucidFlex: profit of at least the minimum on 5 separate days per cycle, positive net profit for the cycle, no buffer. Requesting a payout moves the MLL to its locked level. After 5 payouts, the account is moved to live.
- LucidPro: the profit goal, consistency of 40% or less, and a balance above the buffer, which is the starting balance plus the drawdown plus $100 ($52,100 on $50,000). Payouts can't come out of the buffer. Accounts bought or reset before 28 November 2025 keep 100% of the first $10,000 of profit.
- LucidDirect: the profit goal and consistency of 20% or less in the cycle.
- LucidDaily: request any day from profit built above the buffer; making the plan's maximum daily profit moves the account live.
There's no fixed payout window: you can ask on any day you qualify. Requests are final once sent, and a trade that drops the balance into the buffer before approval can get the request refused. Lucid says money arrives within 2 business days. International traders are paid through WorkMarket by ADP (bank transfer or PayPal) or in crypto (BTC, ETH, LTC, USDT or USDC), and identity checks can be asked for at payout time.

Trading hours, news and banned strategies
| Rule | New York time | IST, US summer time (to 31 October 2026) | IST, US winter time (from 1 November 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| All positions closed (sim accounts) | 4:45 p.m. | 02:15 | 03:15 |
| Trading reopens | 6:00 p.m. | 03:30 | 04:30 |
| US stock market opens | 9:30 a.m. | 19:00 | 20:00 |
- No overnight holds on the simulated Pro, Flex and Direct accounts.
- News: allowed on LucidFlex, LucidPro and LucidDirect. On LucidDaily, holding or opening a position from 1 minute before to 1 minute after a high-impact US release is a hard breach that ends the account.
- Hedging across accounts is banned, your own or anyone else's, including in correlated contracts such as long ES in one account and short NQ in another. High-frequency trading is banned too.
- Microscalping: an account is flagged if more than 50% of its profit comes from trades held 5 seconds or less. A confirmed first case may get a written warning; repeat cases lose those profits and can lead to a permanent ban.
- Allowed: bots, trade copiers, scaling into positions and normal scalping. Lucid warns against adding to losing positions.
- Account limits: up to 10 evaluations and 5 funded accounts per household, 10 in total. Accounts with no trades for 30 days can be deleted.
Commissions
| Contract | Per side | Round turn |
|---|---|---|
| E-mini S&P 500 (ES), E-mini Nasdaq-100 (NQ) | $1.75 | $3.50 |
| Micro S&P 500 (MES), Micro Nasdaq-100 (MNQ) | $0.50 | $1.00 |
| Gold (GC) | $2.30 | $4.60 |
| Micro gold (MGC) | $0.80 | $1.60 |
| Crude oil (CL) | $2.00 | $4.00 |
| Euro FX (6E) | $2.40 | $4.80 |
On micros, commission is a big share of a small target. Ten round turns of MNQ a day cost $10, which on a $150 minimum winning day for a $50,000 LucidFlex account is a fifteenth of the profit.
What the accounts cost
Lucid shows its prices at checkout, and they change with the options you pick and with promotions. Third-party listings in early October 2026 put the $50,000 evaluations (LucidFlex, LucidDaily and LucidPro) at roughly $120 to $190, and LucidDirect at about $515, before discount codes. Check the price on Lucid's site before you buy.
Lucid Trading for traders in India
- Eligibility: India isn't on Lucid's restricted list, which does include neighbours such as Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
- Hours: the busy US open lands at 19:00 or 20:00 IST, and the 4:45 p.m. New York close-out lands at 02:15 or 03:15 IST, so plan for late nights or set your own earlier cut-off.
- Payouts and tax: payouts reach you by bank transfer, PayPal or crypto and are taxable income in India; prop firm taxes covers how they're usually reported. Crypto has its own tax rules, so ask a chartered accountant if you choose that route.
- The rules for residents: see prop firms in India for where prop firm fees sit under RBI's rules.
Which plan fits which trader
- If big days are part of how you trade: LucidFlex has no consistency rule once funded, but caps each payout at 50% of profit and asks for 5 winning days per cycle.
- If you want to pass quickly: LucidPro's evaluation lists no consistency rule, but its funded payouts need 40% consistency and profit above the buffer.
- If you'd rather skip the test: LucidDirect costs more and has the strictest consistency rule, 20%.
- If you want daily payouts: LucidDaily, as long as you're flat around US news and can live with an intraday trailing drawdown.
Whatever the firm, the rules come down to how much you can lose today and in total. Work out today's room with the drawdown calculator, size each trade from its stop with the prop firm lot size calculator, and check your odds of reaching the target first with the risk of ruin calculator.
Lucid changes its rules from time to time, and its own pages occasionally disagree. If a rule matters to your plan, read it on Lucid's help centre the day you buy. For other futures firms, see futures prop firms compared; for passing any challenge, how to pass a prop firm challenge.
